fork seal replacement

    stripping forks down on my gen 5 .can`t get the damper bolt out of bottom .followed haynes manual. it cracked loose but now it just spinning. tried compressing with spring still inside but it jus keeps spinning. HELP! thanks.:confused:

    Old school is to stick a sharpened end of a broomstick into the top of the damper rod. Hold the broomstick to keep the damper rod from spinning as you loosen the bolt.

    What Mason said is your best bet unless you want to go purchase an aftermarket universal tool which will essentially be the same thing as a tapered broom handle.

    Took forks to my local bike mechanic. He got the bolts out easily with a "windy" gun.
