OK- new to me G5. before i bust it loose to adjust chain:

looking from left side of bike, to tighten chain tension

turn eccentric adjuster CW or CCW ?

or looking from back of bike- rotate up or down?

    thanks in advance.

Clockwise. Use WD-40 and soft blows with a heavy hammer if it's stuck. Least that's what worked for me. In addition to wedging a big screwdriver in there and tapping a bit to loosen things up.

    thanks for the reply.

my OM didnt say, and neither did my super duper service manual.

i had read a post somewhere that a guy could not budge it in the tighten direction, so moved it futher loose, and then couldnt reverse it, and ended up buggering the notched plate. i bet that could be costly. :frown:

hopefully tomorrow i will find mine like i like my gals- loose and easy
