My center stand is a wee bit sticky and I need to take it off to give it a good fettle and lube.

According to Haynes I have to support the bike with the back wheel off the ground.

Is this true or can I get the centre stand off with the bike on the side stand?

If it does need to be supported off the ground can I use an ABBA stand (or equivalent) either through the swing arm pivot or through the center of the rear bearing.

    Cheers

    Tris

    PS it's a 93 Gen 3 bike

You can just put it on the side stand.
