I found a great deal on cycletrader.com last week, and by Saturday afternoon, a relatively shiny new to me '96 vfr 750F was sitting in my garage, with lots of nice extra bits, including the seat cowl, original seat + Corbin 2up mounted, original muffler + D&D mounted, passenger grab handles and all original parts + center stand, some bike specific tools, the Clymer, original OM, no road rash, normal wear and tear with 22,000 miles, well-maintained, relatively fresh tires. Found it 30 miles from here after looking for the past several months. Former owner rode it back to my place, and I drove him back to his, gave him an extra $benjamin for his trouble, and he got one last ride out of it on a nice NC morning. Real nice guy, had to meet me in town to get the title properly notarized, and he was extremely gracious about it. Hopefully he and I will get a chance to ride together some time.

Anyway, this is my first VFR, only my second bike ever, first was a Yamaha 535 Virago, great little bike, got mushed. Took me 8 years to get over it, here I am, among the brotherhood again. Thanks for providing this great resource.

    Peace - PD

Thanks, Mr. Den surprised no one asked me what I paid - $2300 ($2200 = kbb trade-in + no haggling - if you haggle, we start at $3200, that's all he asked), including the extra benjamin for the ride to my house and the title notary inconvenience. Such a sick deal, I couldn't pass it up, and now I have the bike I've always dreamed about. Toyed with a white '93 up on Craigslist in Raleigh last week, but the '96 was such a steal, and the white '93 was asking for more than retail ($4K). I wanted the state of the art carbureted version, so here I am.

I'm looking forward to many enjoyable years of riding with this great bike. Quick story, while assembling the tool kit, I grabbed some tools and started taking some fairing off to make sure I have the right bits in my toolbag, and when I took right side lower fairing off, a small object fell out on the floor. It was a bright copper colored and iridescent Scarab who got stuck in there somewhere out on a country road and he just dessicated, perfectly preserved. I looked it up on the 'net, and the scarab (or dung beetle to some) is an ancient Egyptian symbol of good luck, and immortality. I thought to myself, what better good omen could come with a bike (especially the immortality part!). So I made him a little bed in a small box, and tucked him into the cavity beneath the Corbin seat, so that he and his chi will ride with me wherever I go. Superstitious? Already lost one bike to a cager back in '01, I'll take any luck, omen, fortune, benevolence, and blessing I can get for my new VFR :^)

Welcome to the 4th Gen ranks.
    Thats a great deal!!
I thought I stole my 94 with 9k miles for 2700 last yr.
It had extras too!! 1/8 of a tank of gas!! haha

Keep the rubber side down. And keep that OEM pipe, after
a few thou miles your going to need it....

I just rolled over my 5,000th mile on my 4G and I couldn't be happier. I now have a shade over 20k miles showing on the odo.

You got a great price, and a great bike.

    Congrats.
