hey ppl im am new to vfr world and im very interested in buying a 09 black and white vfr i wasnt really a big fan of sport bikes because im a pretty big guy 6'4 350 pounds and couldnt really find a sport bike comfortable enouff for me i was almost goin to buy a harley untill i saw the 09 black and white vfr 800 and just fell in love with it and ive been doin quite abit of reasearch about it and eveyone seems to be in love with there vfr's...the only problem is that im from a small town and our honda dealership is quite small and basically the only way they will get a vfr into the dealership is if you are going to purchase it....the big thing im wondering is if my weight will be a big issue.

ha! a question I can finally answer!! Im 6'7" and 345lbs. I recently became a vfr owner in the form of a 95' 750. If you were considering a cruiser then power wont be an issue with the vfr. it will haul you around better than a cruiser. Points that i am addressing on my 95 is lowering the footpegs about an inch and doing a -1/+2 sprocket swap to help just a little bit (just like throwing 3.73 gears at a car equipped with 2.56's). I would be willing to bet that you would have a blast on the vfr, I have so far. I went to the dealer and sat on an 08, it seemed to be even MORE comfortable than my 95 so I would think youll be just fine. good luck and post some pics!!!!

Recommend checking craigslist too. This bike is meant for big guys, horizontally (me) or vertically :)

Only got three words for you,
    Buy Buy Buy

    Best of luck

The black and white is such a desirable color scheme you better pick one up while you can!! Lowering blocks for the pegs are available and look pretty good from the pics. I saw.

You will need to change your springs front and back for sure. Maybe even do some fork valve work depending on how it feels.

Here ya go, I made this a while ago...

    http://vfrworld.com/forums/sixth-generation-2002-2009/14100-6th-gen-suspension-options.html

Racetech springs for the front and a shock for the rear. The shock will depend on how many items you want to adjust, external or manual pre-load desires and your favorite brand.

My bike has progressive suspension front and back. I bought it like that and just had it re-tuned ( as best it could be) for my size. its made a huge difference from how it handled me at first. For the 6th gens im sure there are some awesome off the shelf bolt in rear shocks ( something with adjustable damping etc.. like an Ohlins) and any good street bike shop can revalve and spring your front end, thay may even be able to do it all.

I can personally recommend a company in my area ( central california) called Boykin suspension. the guy is a suspension genius and a master in his craft and that is saying alot because it seems to be getting harder and harder to find a master in any craft, but im sure there are much closer options for you. good luck bro!
