Found a 95 viffer I really like. But, I don't want to jump into it without knowing any of the known issues with the 95's. Can anyone help me out?

They keep running out of gas due to riding is a major concern. Other wise the R/R regulator rectifier sometimes go haywire and need to be replaced. If left alone long enough or have bad connections then maybe some new wires to the relay and stator would be in order. Thats about it other than needing to upgrade to better springs in front and shock in the rear, too soft from factory.

Ah ok, so similar to the 93's. I had a 93 pearl white but had to get rid of it due to money problems. This 95 I found has 24k miles and looks like it's in great shape. They only want 3000$ for it. I am kind of wondering what the deal is with it, if anything. Next up is trying to convince my better half that buying another bike is a better idea than getting a car....

I had a '95 for 7 years. Issues? Um - going down the road kept forcing a damn shit eating grin on my face. Sometimes the bike made me have uncontrollable urges to crack the throttle open. And damn that bike, it had a mind of its own - it kept taking the rider on multi hundred mile twisty rides against the will of the owner.

Ok - really the only thing with it that happened in 7 years is I had to replace the R/R. Other than that, just normal maintenance. Good luck - $3000 ? Buy it!

A factory upgraded one with the fins is the best unit you can get.

Had my 94 for just over a year. Came with a complete service history. Only the rectifier replaces at around 50.000 kilometers. Now done 86,000 with only oil/filters/tyres required. Same with others of this gen I know of in the area. Gets ridden rain or shine every day. Best bike I ever had.
