Hi All. I'm new here but not new to forums... member at GTAMotorcycles in Toronto, Toronto Protege Club, and Mazda323Performance... So anyhow, I have a now dead Interceptor 750. It didn't like a 3 hour highway run at 7000 rpm, I think I lost my oil pump. It's making noises that no engine should ever make. I'm not going to repair it, since there are many other issues like a leaky fork seal and a leaky gas tank... Is there any market for an old beat up 750? or is it better just going to the metal recycler?

And I've found what I'd really like to be my next bike - VFR800 in the retro paint job. There's a brand new 2007 model on a showroom floor close by here. *Drools* but can't afford it right now...

If noone buys it for parts send it to the bike salvage yard. That way people can still get stuff off it that's still good. I know the one I use has a dozen dead Interceptors thank god since I'm always breaking something ( this week it's the start switch).

If you weren't so far away, I'd take it off your hands.

Another old VF that can't take the stress of actually running for more than 20 minutes.....

THere ARE a few good VFs out there but they are rare: always well maintained, not abused by younger riders, had the oil mod, and still have low mileage.

I'd have advised you to avoid the bike--at any price--if you inquired on this site before purchase.

LOL well, considering I bought it for $500 7 years ago and it was my starter bike, I think I did OK with it :) Plus I knew the history - it had been raced somewhat frequently at the track, came with a full set of spare fairings and a spare motor (which are long gone)...

Sebspeed, just google mapped catskill mountains - you're not THAT far.... only a 6 hour drive each way. Yours free if you make the trek. :) brand new rubber on front, and good condition on the rear... Actually, free to anyone who wants it, but I'm not too interested in shipping her. pick up only in Fort Erie, Ontario!

Once again, another victim who didn't have squirrelman to save him from himself. We all know he should have bought an '86 Radian. Helpful info as usual.

squirrelman, looks like you're too late - the bike is likely going to darkhorse... if that falls through for some reason you can have it if you want it. :)
