seriously !!!why do you think the vfr is so fning cool.???? Me its the sound, the bodylines, the swingarm, the uniqueness, the features, wagoon wheel, this may sound out there but everytime I ride my vfr and wash it and look at it; I say how can this bike get any cooler??? It handles great; I have backed it in to corners by accident mind you but it never was upset it laughed and said dude you can do better then that ..(or was that me not sure) It is comfortable at least 100 miles stock do that on a gixxer, the brakes are awesome I have lifted the back wheel off the ground braking hard into a corner (how I backed it in) but never was twitchy, just so smooth, it laid into corner not any headshake(no dampener either) then purred down the road sounding like a small block,:thumbsup::thumbsup: dam this bike is so cool..sorry I already said that but it is............why do you think that?

It's all about the V4. Also, it's racing history. The bike has got some great roots.

It does everything you ask of it and more. Comfort style and power with one of the most relible engines on the market. VFR is short for V.ery F.unkn R.eliable right?

Met a bunch of guys from work for breakfast this morning, couple of them commented "I didn't know you had a Ducati." I replied "If Honda made a Ducati that would be it." No one believes it's a '97-and when they hear it (High Mount STAINTUNE) it's "What the hell IS that thing!?"
    Coolest bike ever built.

And the hott chickies really dig it...I suppose they feel that unique rumble would make them feel all warm and fuzzy inside once they jumped on it. I've not had any complaints...about my Veef either!

It's my third bike and the first one to consistently remind me of childhood fantasies in which I piloted a UFO or super maneuverable space craft of some kind.

The sound, power and handling were all predicted by an eight year old sitting in the near dark in a cardboard box.

On another note: Calvin rides a VFR.

[edit: On another other note: We all are wearing earplugs (on the freeways at least), right? We keep talking about sound, but wind roar will deafen you, so less audio fun over the years if you're not careful]

It's the V4 thing. There's something about it that inline fours don't have, and V-twins have too much of.

Yup, the machinist that helped me with my rear wheel conversion (who happens to also be rebuilding an FJ) said he's never seen one like it.
Also I just drove through a smallish tunnel the other day, the sound was unbelievable

Like the most of ya here, it's the Sound, then all the trickery going on in the little details, next was looks but that's kinda sliding sideways now that it's dated as only because there's some Hot new models, 1198, 675 etc. But here's the real deal, it's paid for, biggest bang for the buck. which generates huge dividends in smiles per mile, hard to believe it can get any better than this. Did I mention the sound of the gear driven cams?
