Alright, as Im new to VFRs (but not cycles), ive discovered on mine that it seems to have a lean surge under 4000 RPMs. Noticable when Im stuck in slow traffic (35 mph, +-).
Its annoying. I expect thats it also pretty typical, as its been my experience with everything honda that they like it lean and green.
Doing a bit of searching seems to support that theory. So, my question is, how many of you do actually experience this, and whos rejetted to compensate? Im not a huge fan of dynojet kits, but they probably allow for more adjustment than the factory stuff.

any advice? I can "drive through it", but its annoying nonetheless.
I imagine if the factory needles allow for it, I could merely raise them a click or two.. But I dont know if they do.

I would suggest balancing your carbs if they haven't been done in a while.

MY '97 did the same thing.......until i installed a Dynojet kit, which cured all ills !!

You could try shimming up stock needles (no notches) and opening up the mixture screws (if you have the proper tool and very small hands) but the best results are with Factory Pro or Dynojet. How many times do you want to wrestle with getting the carbs off and on??

Do it once and do it right.

My Dynojet kit (on a 93) didn't help much. Pretty disappointing after the expense of getting the kit and having it installed and tuned at a shop. A friend with a 95 used the Factory Pro kit and it was worlds better. It costs more than the Dynojet but as they say you get what you pay for... and the install costs the same (or takes the same amount of your time) and is a bigger part of the expense in any event.
