I need to order a GPS mount and wanted to make sure I had the correct RAM mount. I am going to mount to the front of the tank near the handle bars, the only mount RAM lists is the Ram-B-174U. They also picture it mounted to something on the handle bar area, not where I am going to mount and goldwing is in the description. I have done a search using "ram gps mount" but every thread with the term "mount" in it comes up and nothing about ram gps mounting. Any help is appreciated.

    ram mounts

try either ram-b-346u($20.28) mounts on top of brake or clutch reservoir with ball on the side i have ny GPS mounted on clutch side so i can push buttons with that hand.
the other one I would like to get is the Ram-B-342u ($15.31) mounts inside hole of the stem. think this would be an ideal place for a larger GPS like a ZUMO 550 or a Garmin Nuvi.
i use an Etrex Vista HCx. I works great. these are just bases for the mounts you will need an arm and a mount for your particular unit be it a phone, GPS, Radar, digital video camera, or Laptop. I am joking about the laptop on your bike, but Ram does make them for them. go to Ram's website you can order stuff directly from them.

Hope this helps you. google "ram mount" or use

Have a Ram for my Zumo, use the little ball thingy with longer tank bolts. The main negative with tank bolts vs steering hole is the restriction to the size of your tank bag.

Also you need one of these to go with your Ram mount.

I was looking to mount it to the front tank bolts with the powerlet mounted in the steering stem hole. If I order the B149U, do I just not use the U-bolt and get longer tank bolts?

That's right, I used bolts that were about 1/2" longer than stock.
