:confused:I have had the carbs of 84' VF1000F off twice, once to clean and once for oil line modification. The bike runs great, start immediately but....has a terrible flat spot through the mid RPM range. I have to give it full throttle to get any power out of it, pulls great from the bottom though. I have a 99' VF750 Magna and it has considerably more power. Any wise men out there?

midrange flat spots are often exhaust-related, so it might be informative if you could juggle with discs.

try shimming your needles up and see if things improve........

inspect needles for a sticky ring of crud somewhere along the length...

try removing and thoroughly cleaning the small holes along the sides of main jet holders.....

to sort carb problems you need to see if the bike will pull OK up at top end......so check for cops and hold on tight !!

Dammit Squirrel is beating me to every thread post.

I also have supertrapps. and I have seen this problem

kindly, remove 1 to 2 plates per side. and clean your needles. put the plates back in after a month or so if you need to, depending on how hard it is to start.
