as some of you guys know, I had a fork seal go out & was going to just replace it & get on with it, but ........................ found out the front pads were pretty much gone & figured I would put in a set of new HH's. then I figured I might as well put a set of springs in it, cause everyone says, it makes the bike WAAAAAAAAAAY better (& Im a 6'4", 210 lb rider). I did not want to spend this much money, but figured why not, it will be the last time Im in the froks.

anywho, I call Race Tech & the tech guy says "Oh you HAAAAAAAAAAAAVE to have the emmulator on there."

which got me to thinking.............. what do other folks have on thier front ends (& rears).

BTW, Im pretty much just a commuter. I took one short ride, but I dont go up to the mountains every weekend. In fact Im embarased, that I have not had the time to go out even once with my local VFR fanatics.

    thanks

    Bob

In short its an adjustable valving setup that you put under your spring. to use it you have to dissable the valves in the cartridge.

    that seem pretty cool.
my bike is stock pretty much, I have ( for lack of better term ) power chip that goes into 02 sensors and air temp sensor for a little more juice, ZG dbl bubble, half gutted exhust. 19mm tail riser kit to be installed.
that is it so far but the wish list is long suspension is prob the next step.

what are you looking to get out of the bike???
I am 5'-11" and 160lbs and have done some road racing, it seems the VFR is a very well balanced bike in stock form and I ride it quite hard and never had a problem w/ guys on gixxer 1000's blowing my doors off.
for your weight I would suggest changing springs as it would be to your benifit.
other then that what type of ridding do you do and what do you dislike about the bike?

You're not going use an emulator but Race Tech's gold valves and a modified shim stack. Pics here: Installing Racetech Gold Valves - VFRD

I went this route originally before putting a RC51 front end on and adding an Ohlins shock.

Mostly Im just ride it for commuting. I dont go blasting up the canyons or do track days (thats what the Malibu is for). I figured while I was in the forks I would put a set of springs in it, simply on recomendation of the folks here on the forum.

Capn, thanks for the link, great thread.
