Has anyone measured CO level of VF500F? My bike is running propably too lean, idle CO 0.12-0.16%. Pilot screws won't help at all.

how do the plugs look? are you popping a lot(backfiring) under downshifts? does it take a while before it warms up and you can drive off cleanly without choke?

Difficult to say how the plugs look. About 150 miles of drive after I put new piston rings. Warms up pretty fast. Hesitates a little when turning full throttle.

im just saying like the pair valves on the 6th gens. where air is injected into the ehaust ports...
that could really throw off your readings into the lean region...

Oh man, stuff like that didn't show up on motorcycles until 15 years after the VF500F was made.

It could also be a vacuum leak (or leaks), that will also cause a lean condition. On older bikes like this it's most likely a combination of several factors.

You don't need all four to be leaking, one is enough.

I measured straight from downpipes. Every cylinder separately.

    Open and closed. Same readings.

Edit. And meter is fully working. We use it very often for cars.

    I wondered the same thing.

You got the same readings with open exhaust and with the whole system installed? That sounds more weird than anything else!
