so only having this bike for a few months id like to know more about it.

i know alot about bikes mechanically and what not, and have built my friends r6 for him. im aware of what changes do what and etc. owned quite a few inlines and v twins as well..

but whats the common word around here for the VFR.. i want the skinny on everything

    best mods?
    best seat?
    best grips?
    best luggage?
    best tires?
maintanance intervals for thigns other than, oil, chain?
    change sprockets??
    handle bar riser or no?
what are great DIY mods besides the gutted cans?
    any good exterior mods?
what does the VFR like and dislike?

    i want the low down..

here is the skinny on my VFR..
    03 abs model
    gutted cans
    K&N filter
    Dunlop Road Smart tires
    use Mobile1 4t 10w 40 with stock honda filter
Krauser luggage rack and tour pack
    heated grips
    plug in for heated jacket
    Zero gravity smoked screen

i want to set my bike up for some long hauls, but i still love to rip through the twisties.
if there is anything i have that some dislike please explain why.. i love getting criticism and more info

From experience....Go up 2 teeth on the rear sprocket..Best Mod out there..Trust me, I got the PC3/Elims/Flapper/Carbon fiber Cans/K&N/alloys...all those mods dont hold a candle to going up two teeth.....unless you are making 150mph speed runs...that is the cheapest and most effective mod to the VFR...all the rest just smooth out the power to the wheels...On the drag strip, the teeth made a huge difference and its easier to wheelie with :)
You are pretty much spending money on looks and sounds after that!!

IF you do a 520 conversion, you will have to have custom sprockets made. I searched for 2 months and could not find any. and also had a few people look for me at various shops.

I went 1 down in the front and love it. Ive got the gutted cans, Im removing the emmisions, cat, and tailraiser next. Pc3 is a very good idea, along with the BMC air cleaner, DO not get the Kand N. then take it to be dyno tuned after you remove the emissions, and get the o2 eliminators.

get a set of EBC HH brake pads. take off the centerstand, rear peg brackets, grabrails, and the evap canister. That all sheds alot of weight from the bike. my bike weighs 30lbs less than a stock vfr, and I still need to take out the cat, centerstand, and convert the frontend to an f4i. That will get rid of the linked brakes. But mine is mostly going to be a track bike. And by the end of the year will be supercharged.

Tire wise, im running bridgestone bt002 rs . Very very nice.

i cant shed the rear pegs, for me and the wife travel alot.
i wont rid the center stand either just cause its quite convenient at times.

already have a k&n.. i know that most say its about as good as a stock filter, but i got it brand new with the bike, so i threw it in.

It's designed to replicate stock flow, but it's reuseable...

SEEMS like you're way ahead of most new VFR guys,. but forget about the 520 chain and sprockets!! Not a worthwile mod !

However i can recommend sproket changes as mentioned above, and i like -1// +2 or +3

Yeah the 520 will wear out much much faster than the 530...the weight difference is not enough to matter..and the center stand is the best tool on the bike...I rode a friends who removed his and I could not tell a difference....I ride two up plenty and 2 up in the rear kept her from feeling so laggy with two riders...
