Don't know if I call myself a "PS3 Buff", but I have had one for a couple years. My son plays more than I do, but I definitely like it.
Yes, I bought mine back when they first came out. Paid 700 bucks for the 20 gig version, I guess I should have been patient for the price drop. I have no complaints about the system. I don't get why anyone would buy a 360 now that the prices are semi close. You don't get a bluray player or a web browser and to top it off you have to pay to play online... WEAK! :crazy:
I love my PS3!! Although, I just use mine as a media center as well. It's a great blu-ray player, and does a really good job upconverting dvd too! We do play games on it occasionally, but for the most part its just a movie or cd transport. :thumbsup:
Oh I am a bit too familiar with it actually. Was just curious if we had enough and we were into the the same games then maybe, just maybe we could hook up. That is pending were all off the bikes at the same time. Lets see what kind of response we get, seems good so far. At the very least we have an official anything goes PS3 thread now for all the addicts that need to vent.
There's no reason for the 360 to exist. It's just another microsoft piece of garbage. The only reason it exists is the first Halo game, after that, its useless. The PS3 has it all; BluRay, free online gaming, hard drive, DVD upconverting. I use mine mostly for my BluRay collection and play games occasionally. I wouldn't mind dusting off the game controller for a few online frag fests...
Just FYI, upgrading the drive in the PS3 is supposedly insanely easy. Aparently it's as easy as simply ripping out the old one, slipping in the new one and following the instructions. We have one too, although the man plays it more than I do. If you play NHL online I am sure he would like someone to play with that isn't a glitch spamming newb. :tongue:

Also have GTA4, FarCry2(haven't played through it yet), and Resistance 2. EDIT: I changed my 20GB hard drive out for a 200GB Seagate drive. Yes, it is insanely easy to do. Like 3 screws I think. Uber easy. You don't have to be a total geek to do it. Just make sure you buy the right kind of drive. 2.5" sata
