Just found this forum over the weekend looking for info on clutch hydraulics problem on my old VF700. Got it fixed and came back to post in that thread what worked for me.

Have had the VF700 for about 10yrs now. Love the old classic lines. Been riding since 1965. Raced on/off for about 10yrs. Currently have somewhere around 15 bikes +/- Would need to go down to the barn and start counting!! Have had some of them for 30-40yrs, never seemed to git rid of some of them. Still have my very first bike, a 1965 Honda S65!

Riding and playing around with bikes is a hobby/passion/therapy for me. Here's a couple of my projects from last winter:

Took an old FT500 Ascot and converted it into a street tracker...what an Ascot should have looked like to begin with!!

Restored this barn fresh '76 Elsinore. stripped it down to the last nut and bolt and completely redid it:

    Also restored this old roadie:

    My current project, a retro-Wing!

Got to keep all these oldies alive and kickin' ( kind of like me!!!) Sorry, no pics the the VF700....

You have some sweet rides there - the Ascot looks fun! On the retro wing, why not just buy a Valkyrie?

Besides, its more fun to take something like that '82 Interstate full dresser and strip it down and modify it and build it back to what I want than it is to just go out and buy one. I'm actually fixing it up for my son to ride.

Damn, Cool! Another Honda addict! - I'm guilty too. I ride a std Valky too. I've lost count of how many Hondas I've had - Last summer I had 5 , now I'm down to just 2 - for the moment!

    Keep the rubber side down,
    MD

Yeah, that Elsie came out pretty good, only wish I had taken some "before" pics of it. Say what yo want about eBay, but its been a savior for finding parts for some of these old bikes.

Picked that Ft500 up, oh, about 1990. Kept loking for a VT500, but neither model of Ascot was ever that popular and the FT's could be had cheap! I paid $400 for that Ascot and it only had a couple of thousand miles on it. Was cheap economical transportation, decent little commuter. ONly thing was it was way too funky looking, kinda like the Honda engineer that tried to design an Ascot replica had a tadbit too much saki that night!!!! It's an even more fun little streetrod now, gets a fair bit of attention, too! Weighed all the crap I took off of it and I had cut a bit over 50lbs off the stocker!!!

Yup, them are the ones I still have.......hmmmm, looking at the list, covers a Honda from each of what, the last 5 decades?? Fortunately, got that old barn that's n the background in a couple of them pics above. THere's a bunch of bikes I had that I did sell/trade of the years that I wish I still had or could find a decent one again, like a '68 441 BSA I had, or a Kaw Greenstreek. One I'd like to replicate is my first "race bike":

1965 Honda S90....high pipe, Powroll 98cc big bore kit with cam and carb mods, Borrani alloy rims (16in rear rim). Used to whip on the 2/s in the 100cc class back in them days. Of course, I was a tad bit younger and thinner back then!
