Not what I was hoping for @ the beginning of "riding season". better than right in the middle of it I suppose. I also found out that it needs new pads & I figured its about time I get around to the Valve adjustment Ive been slacking on too.

There actually is a relly good one here. with his permission, Im going to plagerize it & add my pictures, & make it as gooder as I can.

I think he was doing it on an older bike than mine (Mines a 98), cause there is a little difference between his instructions & mine.

I had not planned on putting new springs in it. I measured them last night & they dont appear to have lost any length to them.

I take it you replaced yours?? how did you pick new ones?

    thanks

You definitely want to trash those stock springs. Id recommend to look here for a good replacement and fitting guide.

I checked them out a few minutes ago. one of the beni's is that they are kinda local (Im in San Diego).

what kind of PITB is it to put them in?? I was hoping to keep this as low cost & simple as possible. is the total length the only real issue???

    thanks

Easy squeeze lemon peezy... Just need to cut the supplied aluminum tubes that are supplied with the springs to the proper length with a hacksaw. TO get the right length I would use their guide and measure the distance you need to cut to have the proper preload of the spring. You want about 24 mm distance between the fork tube top and bottom of the fork cap BEFORE its tighten down with the spring and spacer in place. Sounds a bit difficult but its easy once your in it.

I can help further explain if needed if you decided to go for it but highly recommended.
