I've read the previous thread on rear huggers, but the site mentioned no longer lists the VFR huggers mentioned in that thread (NWS, Secdem). I found a couple on www.streetfighters-usa.com and am wondering if anyone has anything to say about either one or has alternates for a I shoud look at for an '03 VFR:
Pyramid Plastics ($130-$142 depending on finish, uses tie-wraps)
Powerbronze ($105 for black or red, $120 for Carbon Fiber look, uses bolts)

    Thanks

I am looking for my '05 silver. I think the Powerbronze is the best one, but can't find a pic of it on a VFR. I can't even get a model number.

    Hugger Findings

After doing more research and being led to a couple other fora that cover VFR's, I have these conclusions:
    1. "Best" (heaviest plastic, quality, service) huggers are from NWS or Harris.
Harris [harris-performance.com] offers CF or Fiberglass huggers in black (as far as I can tell)
Harris CF: $200 Fiberglass: $155.40 (currency converted from Pounds to USD)

1a. NWS apparently sold the VFR molds to Powerbronze since NWS no longer sells huggers for the VFR (see item 4 below)
Powerbronze apparently didn't pay extra for the expertise that the people at NWS had making the VFR huggers and it shows (fit, finish, durability)

    2. A cheaper alternative to Harris is Red Fox [red-fox.com], which has been getting decent reviews. Red Fox offers "Carbon Look, Gloss Black or Custom Painted finish." I assume they are PVC like Powerbronze.
CF: $122.50 Black: $115.25 Painted: $230.50 (currency converted from Pounds to USD)

    3. Pyramid has a hugger that mounts to the existing chainguard (Harris and Red Fox are chain guard replacements) that appears to be solid, although it has been getting mixed reviews.
    CF look: $144 Black: $139 Silver: $152
(prices from DynamoHumm.com based in Canada and may/may not ship to US - policies state that Customs is the customer's problem)

    4. Powerbronze [powerbronze.co.uk] (using menus on left of page)
    "Base": $103.35
    "Colour matched": +$95.40
    CF look: +$15.90
Black, red, white, yellow available at "base" price

Since all the products seem to be made in the UK, I suggest heading to the Hionda VFR Club [http://www.bikersoracle.com/vfr/forum/index.php?] which seems to be based out of the UK for reviews of the product lines mentioned above.

    Shiny side up,

I am looking at the Thurn or the GCC if anyone has any experience, leaning towards the GCC.

It is a pain that no one place makes all the carbon fiber bits for the VFR. Now I have to buy different parts from different places and run the risk of it not all matching. Spike
