    Greetings, peeps.
Just thought Id pop in and say hello, as Im new to interceptors (NOT new to cycles, though).

After taking a couple year break from owning bikes, I got the bug again. My last bike was a V-max (a truely awesome machine), and I took it cross country twice.
I may well do the same to my 94 VFR. one owner, never been down, 100 percent stock.
I was shopping for 6 weeks, not exactly sure which direction i wanted to go, but since Ive always loved interceptors and this one just appeared, I had to nab it.

    Anyway, thats it. Boring story.
all im doing to it is throwing on a fresh set of dunlops and a slip on, as I like it loud.

Where do you get your Peeps? WalMart has them around Easter but once they sell out they are gone and not resurrected until the next year.

    Hmmm..
The vmax was probably the nicest overall bike ive ever owned. Its primary weakness is a pretty awful chassis. weak, wobbly, and not up to harnessing the power it wields. Its not confident railing around corners in the slightest. Not to say it couldnt, but you dont feel good doing it!

Its strength? The STUNNING engine. Hands down the nicest engine in a bike Ive ever ridden (ive owned 7 bikes, and ridden about 20). The power and smoothness makes the interceptor look bad! And I have nothing bad to say about the interceptor! Of course, it was 1200 cc's with a balance shaft... My interceptor is obviously smaller and I dont believe it has a balance shaft.

However, the VFR is better in pretty much every other way. It obviously handles about a hundred times better, and is much more relaxed when cornering. Overall, the VFR is much more refined.

The max was incredibly comfortable for me, fitting me like a glove ergonomically. The VFR is also very comfortable for me.... Id say its a toss-up in that department.

I loved the 'max (enough to think about getting a second one!), but the overall ability, refinement, and control of the VFR is definitely better.

heres a pic of it. compared to my prior pic, id say the VFR probably looks better, but with some custom paint and chrome, my 'max was kinda nice looking, too.

Congrats on your new ride! Great choice, I had a 93 (black) back in the day (same bike, different color) - It may be your first interceptor, but it prob wont be your last (I'm on my 3rd) - consider yourself warned

Welcome, and congratulations for having shown such great taste and sophistication in choosing a 4th gen ('94, just like mine.)

I threw a D&D carbon on mine - sounds awesome!

I also just installed the D&D (black satin)..
it sounds okay, but honestly, its just not the same as my old v-max! (truely a one of a kind sound to that monster).

Im not disappointed in the tune, however.

It'll never sound like your old V-Max, just like my VFR will never sound like my old Norton Commando with straight pipes. I think you'll like it though when you're up at 8-9Krpm. That's when the pipe will really sing.. well... scream actually.
