Is there any difference between the two? Can I take carbs from an 84-85 Magna and put them on an 84-85 Interceptor without any issues?

I believe I answered this question elsewhere... but yes, they are the same engine and carbs.

I searched around and and found posts saying the Magna and Interceptor were pretty much the same engine wise but couldn't find anything specific to the carbs so I figured it couldn't hurt to ask. Thanks Ghost.

So aside from getting the pilot screw setting right I should be okay? I notice that the main jet sizes are different between the Magna and Interceptor for '84 but are the same for '85. Anyone know why they changed the main jet sizes between years besides just regular tuning? Also, anyone know what the reason for the different jet sizes between front and rear banks on the '84 Interceptor is? Thanks.

the reason is due to a revision update of the carb assembly print. the jets changed because the Interceptor used the same setup for the higher 750 and 1000.

It wont make any difference for you bud.
    enjoy

only difference besides jet size is the vfr screw they had that becuase vfrs are track bikes then and magna was a street bike adjust the vfr screw near pilot jet and you'll be fine:thumbsup:

To clarify, you are referring to the pilot screw adjustment being two turns instead of 2-1/2. Is this correct?
