Question is, are their any replacement sight glass parts to be had? I have been out of the loop for months. Nothing bad has happened except that I got bitten by the Magna/Sabre first gen bug. I now have 2 Magna 500's and a first year Magna 750 in adddition to my 86 VFR 700 and my son is storing his hammered (literally) Vf 500f and the extra motor/frame and various bits and pieces in my garage (his mother, my ex, is a rag when it comes to accumulation of oily things). Soooo, I have 6 different VF motored Hondas now. And that being the case it was bound to happen that at least one or more of them was going to spring a master cylinder sight glass breakdown. And so it has, three different master cylinders have sight glass's with holes or they are leaking. At @ $240 per Master Cylinder (new) I need an alternate fix. It seems that replacement sight glass elements are not available as an OEM replacement part. What to do? I Googled and came up with two articles. One was from VFRWorld on Oil sight glass repair. The other was from KAWASAKI WORLD (??) . The Kawasaki thread ended with a member of their club saying that he got replacement MC sight glass from a place called "NEW RIVER CYCLE SALVAGE. Thats all. His name was "newbie". Thread ended there. One of the thread writers suggested epoxy and a dime on the inside of the MC bowl blocking up the sight glass hole and a nickle on the outside of the MC generally covering up the sight hole and whats around it. Any takers regarding sight glass leakage/breakage problems on the first gen VF's and later that are starting to fall into dust? DKC
