A few years back a friend of mine did the seals on my old Katana. He just used a piece of PVC pipe to drive in the seals like you said.

He also put the old seal over top of the new seal when driving it in so it was easier to drive it in evenly all the way around.

Jay- Not free on Wednesday. Have fun!! I'll be stuck at work wishing I was out and about.

Just signed up for a Nesba trackday at Summit Point on 6/5. Anyone interested in going? It's on a Friday so you would have to get the day off. The membership is $75 for the year and the track event for this track is $175. They also offer a free track demo of two sessions in the morning. But you have to show up at the track and see if they have room for you. You could always show up and see what it's like and watch my fatass slowly go around the track.

wow that actually sounds very reasonable. i would sign up for the free sessions in a heart beat if i had health insurance. especially since i have all the gear and would just need to do a little bike prep.

Trackdays...I have been feining to get out since March. My friend Moe and I are going to Jennings in Florida Memorial Day weekend for a 2 day event.

Just got a Hero cam like Jay's but I'm having trouble getting the videos to upload onto Youtube and Photobucket. Anyone have some suggestions? I was completely amazed by the quality of the picture when I got home and watched it. Didn't think the wide angle was wide enough to get the dash and subsequently my speed though. Hehe...Luckily that is uncorrected due to gearing changes so its not AS fast as it seems.

I was coming home on 211 this afternoon, solo ride on a metallic grey six-gen machine. It was a gorgeous day for riding today and so I decided to not go to work, rather casually go exploring the top half, the first 50 miles, of Skyline Drive which was a real treat.

My day began 11am, I took 66 west to 55 to Front Royal, ate at the local KFC and topped off the gas tank, and then to the park entrance where I proceed to invest in an annual pass, which seemed to be the prudent thing to do (pays for itself after just 3 visits, good for a passenger car with 4 occupants or 2 bikes). I started off at mile marker one at the 35mph speed limit and it seemed at times painfully slow, particularly in the straights. The park was pretty empty and I didn't see any LEO or rangers enforcing speed limits so I was able to at cruise 45-50mph without a problem and that seemed a good pace for that road, which really got exciting just after the Mary's Rock tunnel (awesome point of interest) at mile marker 32ish and beyond. I did that section coming and going back and then I exited at Thorton Gap for the grand finale and hike back home via 211 to 29. All in all, it was a beautiful day with the weather and being out on the bike on a fun ride, and what a great resource we are all so fortunate to have in our backyard. I will have to get back out there again soon, thinking next time probably enter the park at Thornton Gap Entrance and go south all the way to the end to see what I missed and come back out the way I came. Good stuff!

It is $30 for the annual pass which will allow you to bring another bike. If you pay as you go it is $10, and that ticket is good for seven days. The "Drive" is the main feature of the park but of course there are also lots of other recreational activities such as hiking to waterfalls and other nature activites.

I thought it was a great road and you feel very safe on it because the speed limit is low and traffic is nothing but relaxed tourists. No commercial traffic, no trucks, no squids. I heard it can get pretty crowded when the leaves are changing colors but this time of year and especially during the week I felt like I almost had to whole place to myself. 107 miles of gorgeous mountain twisties at a relaxed pace, go there with that mindset and you won't be disappointed.

Are you trying to upload at work or home? I'm guessing that at home you are too far out in the country to have adequate bandwidth for uploading video... but I'm no guru either.

Oh well that isn't too far away. Many of us live down around Manassas. Another guy is from up in Alex and is always looking for a riding partner. Most of the people in this thread are Richmond North.
Keep an eye for ride postings. Everyone here is nice and a post will come out looking for riders. Some are short notice.
