Hey everybody! New here so go easy... Been riding for almost 10 years, my first bike was a 1998 VFR, and I loved that bike - sold it to a friend nearby so I can still ride her now and then. In March I bought the bike I've been wanting for a few years now, a brand new VFR, go figure... I wanted a 2009 in black but could not get it from any nearby dealers and all they had nearby was a silver 2008, liked it but had heart settled on black or red. The next day my buddy at the dealership called and told me he tracked a crimson 2007 in a crate new somewhere and had it shipped to me, I drove it off the lot in March and have been loving it since... Some complaints by others about the jump when the VTEC kicks in... Not so bad and now all but eliminated with the addition of a Power Commander III... I really like this bike and have visited this site many times in the past and decided I should join up now and make some friends here... So hey! Oh one more thing - that modificaiton by Sean Murphy for the car horn swap out... You guys gotta do this, it's awesome, wait till you see the look on their faces when they start to drift into your lane and you lean on your new 'Buick' horn... LOL... Awesome!

Congrats on the new bike! I like the black too but finding these bad boys can drive you nuts. Mine took a lot of phone calls before I found one over 100 miles from me. Worth every minute in the end, I still grin ear to ear just looking at her. Welcome to the party that never ends!

    Steve,

Guess I missed that horn swap out. Got a link? Anything to wake up the cellphone challenged.

Got a buddy who builds drag cars. He hauls his on a trailer with a big Ford truck. Mounted on the cab is a horn from a Northern Pacific Locomotive. He did the valving and solenoid engineering, It runs off an old scuba tank. Do they move when he toots. Oh Yeah!

Happy to help... This really makes a difference... TRUST ME! And sooooo easy, I was surprised to just walk into the auto supply store and ask and they just walked down an isle and there it was!! $19 and change... Also there are 2 types... I suggest you go for the LOW tone, it is more 'throaty'! Cheers, Steve. Click on link below:

I just picked up a used '07 red with 816 kms on the clock just 2 weeks ago. My first VFR however and lovin it. The kick from the VTECH don't bother me at all I actually like it, not sure what everyone don't like about it.

Welcome to the site seem like a good bunch of guys here.

I don't mind the VTEC kick in either - but a lot of people bitched that it was a jolt or unstable if kicking in going around a corner... Whatever... Anyhow, it isn't anything that would have kept me from getting the bike if I had it to do all over again, and the Power Commander pretty much covers it up anyhow... Thanks for the welcome!
