All VFR experts....I have a 92 VFR and am trying to find a rear swingarm stand. I have seen the pit bull for $140, but need the economy version. Help!

I have a Lockhart Phillips or LP stand which worked fine on my 91 and also on my 98 VFR. I believe that it was around $100 on e-bay a few years back. It is also chrome fininshed which keeps it looking good with no scratches or rust.

I also have their front race stand that picks up the bike by the steering head so you can change tires etc.

    Both work fine!

Here is the rear stand in action on my 91,

It is manufactured by Lockhart Phillips. It is simple and works well although you need to be careful when you slip it between the front fender and the fairing as it can scratch easily.

Jethro, what exactly does the front stand touch or connect to? My 92' has a horizontal rectangle (part of the radiator/cooling system) that seems to be in the way. Is there a hole or bracket it is supposed to rest on?

That would be your oil cooler.

The stand has a shaft that inserts inside your steering stem. The shaft has a shoulder that rests against the lower tripple clamp and takes the weight of the bike. It comes with various size removable shafts so it will work on almost all bikes.

Here is the stand in stowed position
    [IMG]

The system works really well as long as you do not have to check your head bearings. For that you need to support the weight of the bike by lifting under the engine.

Here is the stand extended as if the bike was lifted.

Here is a close up of the pin.

On the 92 VFR you will have to remove your horn to use this stand. I never use my horn so it is in a box somewhere.

I searched Ebay and the Lockhart Phillips site but can't find a 92' VFR rear stand. Anybody have any suggestions on where I could find one?

Pit Bull has one. I think you can find it on exoticsportbike.com.

The 91 VFR has a Corbin saddle but the 98 in the pictures is stock. I really liked the Corbin. I had them make the butt pad to match and it did but it wasn't very symetrical.

you may also try handy industries they have stands for just about anything ,reasonable prices too ,remember this is a unusual type of setup so finding stands will probably mean you will have to go buy direct unless you get lucky on e-bay which does happen from time to time, good luck.

I found the Pit bull stand, but it is not cheap (I AM cheap). I searched Handy's website and can't find a single sided swing arm stand, so I will give them a call. Ebay is on the list too. Thanks for the suggestions. Any other inexpensive ideas??

I need to post some pics too. I have a new Corbin seat on my 92' and it looks great. I got to choose the leather color and pattern.

Ahh, but the PitBull ones are very nice. Built well, and work well. Although my front end stand doesn't have the fancy electrical tape mod in the picture above.
