Has anybody been watching the NHL playoffs this year. I've been following Detroit (hoping they lose) and the blackhawks (I like the underdogs), and before I go any further lets face it nobody is going to stop the Wings again this year. But I'm a HUGE Pens fan always have been and have been watching the Pens-Caps series it is a great series with awsome talent in Geno and Crosby and Stall for the Pens and Federov and the Caps goalie (can't spell his name) I know all you Caps fans are saying I'm forgetting Ovechkin but that man is a cherry picking primadona just like Gretzky he stands at the blue line waiting for the puck the man plays very little D if you actually know hockey you can see that the only reason most people think he is so great at D is because he'll have a big hit every now and then. Now don't get me wrong offensively he is maybe the best in the league but all around game wouldn't rank him in the top 10. Plus the guy is the T.O of the NHL acting like an ass whenever he scores. Personal rant about him off, can the refs love the Caps anymore, tonight's game put me over the edge both faceoffs in the Pens end the Caps slashed sticks away from the defenseman hell one even happened before the puck was dropped then the hooking call against Oprik when he didn't even touch the man and he flops down and the Caps score, plus all series long on faceoffs the Caps players are just holding ad dragging down the Pens right off the draws and nothing is being called, now I realize the Pens powerplay is terrible and prob wouldn't score anyway but it's the principle of the thing, anyway series has been great and game 7's are fun but lets hope the refs don't ruin it any further either way pretty long rant I know but I needed to vent. And before anybody says it I know Sid complains too much I'm always yelling at the TV for him to shut up and get to the circle.

There's a reason it's called Hockey Town... GO WINGS! lol. I admit I'm biased. That being said, and after watching some of the other games in the other series...the officiating has surprised me more than once across the board. There have been some great games despite it though. Love the playoffs!

I was never a big hockey fan, but this Blackhawk turnaround is hard to ignore. I just watched game six with the Canucks and I think I'm getting hooked! Chicago is going crazy right now. How far can this young team go? We have got to be the scariest team in the league. At every level these kids just seem to step up!

I was in Milwaukee Saturday night watching the Cubs play the Brewers. Six rows behind me is a guy wearing his Cubs hat and his Blackhawks Jersey. Oh what fun!

I'm in Chicago right now and was at a sports bar watching game 6, west coast people have no idea of the intensity of the fans when it comes to hockey, I don't think I've ever had so much fun watching a hockey game at a sports bar...

Carolina Hurricanes fan here and have had season tickets since 1999. The playoffs are a different atmosphere, you have to be there to truly appreciate. Watching the Stanley Cup celebrations in 2006 was awesome. Once again the Canes are flying under the radar, which is fine with me. Round one against the Devils was easily the best of all first round series. That title goes to the Caps/Pens in round 2 and am pulling for the Pens to take game 7. Will be at Canes/Bruins game 6 tonight, Canes up 3-2 in the series.

    LETS GO CANES!!!!

I'm a Devils fan, and have been for about 15 years or so. The Devils seem to be like the Cowboys; they collapse in the playoffs.

I don't recall the exact statistic, but I think its something like 17 years (Maybe it was 10?) in a row that the Devils have made the playoffs (not including a strike shortened season). Presently, there is not another hockey team that can lay claim to that. Of course, winning the all might Grail is what its all about, but they have had an impressive run.

The series against Carolina this year was truly one of the best hockey series that I've seen in a long time. My passion for hating the 'Canes is growing Y2Kviffer!!!! :)

Now come on Persing, you really want to throw Gretzky under the bus like that? A cherry picking prima-donna? Not all players are going to be great at all positions. if defense is not the style of Ovechkin, so be it.

The Devils really don't choke they just never get the offensive help for Marty who is probably the best goalie in NHL history and proved it again this post season he just didn't get the help. I'm not a huge Canes fan either but there playing Boston and I HATE every team from that city so lets go Pens and Lets go Canes

Most of you know I grew up in Pittsburgh. So the Penguins get all my love.
Last night's game with the Caps was disappointing but lots of shooting going on- 5 to 4!
The series is not over. Go Pens!

6-2 YES, kinda feel bad for varlomov he and ovechkin were the only reasons the caps were in this series, but i'll take it now lets hope the Canes win and the Pens will have home ice.

Hey Persing66, Gretzky the Great for a reason, he was good everywhere. Not a blueline cherry picker. I think in that area you have him mixed up with Mario Lemieux in his early days. I am not a big Mario fan but must admit he did less cherry picking later in his career and became a much better all round player. Any city that gets this far in the playoffs is awesome to be in. Edmonton was crazy a couple years back when the Oil made the finals. Anyone in the citys still fightin it out, enjoy the mayhem while it lasts. It is a great party.... and oh ya,... Go Leafs Go!!!
