I have a 96 VFR which i am selling The buyer is tall and wants to raise the seat. Any suggestions how to raise the shock and seat would be helpful thanks Bikermike
Adjusting the height of the shock won't change the relationship between the seat/bars/pegs. It'll just put more weight on his wrists. So that wouldn't help unless you lower the pegs, as well. You can make the seat taller by adding some high density foam to it and putting a new cover on it. Then raise the height of the clip-ons with some risers? I don't know of any aftermarket suppliers for risers or pegs... Would be nice if anyone had some links. I wouldn't mind installing some risers on a third gen, myself.
take a look at the linkage on the rear suspension. im not familiar with your year, but with mine (6thgen) i was able to lower mine an inch by rotating the triangles that attach to the dogbone 120 degrees. i think a longer dogbone would accomplish the same... so mabey what you would be after might be a shorter dogbone. or maybe you could find a short cut like rotating the linkage or a different year/models rear shock. just remember when you raise or lower the back you might want to raise or lower the fork tubes accordanly...
