I was going to install my new PCIII-USB on my 2001 VFR this afternoon but ran into a minor snag... the install instructions show the cable to the front of the bike as running between the frame and the interior of the bike, and at least on my bike there's no way the round connectors are going to fit there, there's not enough clearance and there's other stuff in the way.

I live in an apartment building and the garage where I park won't let me work on the bike there, so basically I park on sidewalk and work there. If I need a tool or a part it's about a 10 minute walk to my aparement and back, so I have to try to anticipate problems in advance as much as possible, hence the dumb question.

    TIA,

    Dave

Never mind, you sort of have to cram the connectors in there, mission accomplished.

No, they don't... but I pay good money for a spot in a 24 hour, indoor, attended, garage in the basement of a fairy ritzy building so it's pretty safe. At least until I go down the street and try to work on it, then it's in jeopardy.

    Hi Dave,
This is an easy one bossman. option one, ensure your wire length is free from whatever you are pulling through, and find another spot somewhere and simply pull the connector through, past the connector, and slide the wire and connector along the thin area until you get up to the point you want it. option two, force it in. Option three, pull the pins from the connector thread through the area, and re-populate your connector. lastly, option four, cut the wires, and resplice them back.

Do'oh! just saw this. Yay to option 2!

That would be the nuclear option(tm), thankfully, all it needed was a hammer and it worked just fine.

    Thanks!
