Hey new member Dont ride A viffer anymore but sure miss it . Ride a 05LE Busa . Next best thing .. Traded my 2000 VFR for it and am looking for it ..Traded about 1 1/2 yrs ago . Anyone seen it ??
havent seen it... how does the busa handle in corners compared? the guy from pashnit.com rides a busa all over cali. he really likes it.
Rides just as good .Feels like you are riding a VFR with more Arse to it..Love it Tours just as good as the VFR .. Only reason I got rid of VFR is couldnt afford both . Spent more money trying to get more power out of the VFR .So i decided to upgrade .Just miss the color..If Honda ever goes to a bigger motor in a VFR im in ..Here is a pic of my Busa at the BusaBash riding on the Dragon...
Hey Busa, I'm thinking of having 2 bikes in the future, how much did the switch change your insurance if you don't mind me asking? BTW :welcome:
Thanks Falcon . Love it .. But have to admit I do miss My Yellow Baby...Hard to see in Pic but this is the decals that I put on it...
I havent riden a 'busa but rode a blackbird a while back. I did a back to back - BB vs VFR. The big power is fun but the extra wheelbase and weight really shows up in twisty stuff. The viffer would walk all over it in the twists. The corners are the most important stuff for me so I'm sticking to the viffer. But damn, another 25-30 horses would be sweet!
I am new here so I don't want to seem like a smart Arse but if you was close to me or the dragon I could show you how good the busa does in the twisties..Not sure where you get your info but a 2002 VFR is 7 pounds heavier then a 05Busa..Wheelbase on VFR is 56.7 in . Busa is 58.5 so not that much longer . Lets say you could out turn me while you are dropping gears for power I would torque right by you in one gear..There is no comparison of the power Between the 2 Have rode 2000 VFR for 5 years full exhaust power commander dropped gears and as much as I like the VFR it wouldn't have stood a chance to any stock busa straight away's or twisties..
Didnt mean to hit any nerves -agreed big power is fun!! I rode a CBR1000R and can attest to that. Still choosing a weapon in the twists - the dragon included, I would pick my tricked out viffer over the 'busa. (I'd still like to ride one and crank it) . Your '05 'busa weight - on a scale by Sport Rider magazine comes in at 563 wet/533 dry. A 5th gen comes in at 499 wet/458 dry. Yeah the 6th gen is a fat arse. 02 - 534wet/508dry and '05 - 585 wet/550 dry. - Look it up - www.sportrider.com BTW they use a scale. - In the twists I just dont want to deal with the extra 60 pounds or so and extra wheel base. I would imagine a better rider on a 'busa would smoke me, but an equal rider or less maybe not. I know in the straits its just watch the 'busa disappear into the forward horizon. Its just fun - keep the rubber side down, MD

Half of dozen of one half a dozen of another now days.. So many choices so little money..Wish i could own 1 of each...
I cant stand the 6th gen - it needs a 60lbs diet at least and a fix for a lot of other agravations. Thats why I bought a 5th gen - my modded one would come in at about 445 dry and the wheel base is shorter than the 6th. Manufacturer weight specs nowadays are laughable, created on the computer screen before the first one is built. You right though, gonads and experience would count the most in the tight twists of the dragon. I figure most of the time your leaned over pretty good so 2nd gear would be used most of the time, - straits almost non existant, so the best average corner speed would take it.
Bowing Down OK people I would not be a man if I did not admit I could be wrong so i went and got my friends 1997 VFR and we went riding . Small twisties and a few sweepers . now im running a 200 tire on the rear and a few suspinsion tweeks . My conclusion is you are all right the viffer turns in faster and easier into a turn and through most of it . BUT my busa was no slouch .We where dead even through the tweesties and the longer stretches I ate his lunch . He did the same when I rode his and he rode mine .The VFR does feel a little more stable laided down then I remembered . But what I do remember is the lack of stump pulling torque . My conclusion is the vfr with an experianced rider would in fact beat the busa with an average rider. Or a rider that is scared of laying the busa down. The busa will surprise you on how nice it will stick a curve and my lack of chicken strips will attest to that. I cant say i have never over cooked a corner on it because I have . One thing about the Busa is when you twist the throttle you better be ready that next corner is coming quick. So they are both very capable motorcycles and will both hold there own in there courts..I did feel more worked riding the VFR then the Busa maybe because im used to the Busa and the way it sits .But i still like both and one day i will own both .. Still looking for my old one..
I'll never forget the first time I rode a Busa after being on a cbr 600, it almost took my hands off the bars... Lesson learned that day
