New to VFR, what must have mods/accessories/gear?

Hey guys,

Subject says it all, what mods/accessories/gear would you guys recommend for a brand new VFR rider, to get settled into the SPORT of touring?

 

Depending on your weight the suspension may be the best mod you can do since it's lacking from the factory. Check your sag and see if you can even dial it in. I can't at 220lbs.

 

o2 eliminators. definitely a must have.

 

just get all the proper gear, save the rest for tires and gas and go tour....far!!.... thats all u need! enjoy!

 

I agree with Nitro. To add to his points, you may want to consider a Sargent seat for long distances, and an aftermarket windshield if you're over 6 ft. The Zero Gravity Double Bubble windshield works great.

 

I would say just ride the bike. You will decide for yourself what you need. Then this site will really help.

 

Sargent saddle, followed by spending money where it most counts, that being Race Tech suspension rebuilds.:thumbsup:

youll need lots of it, youll never be able to stop buying accessories for your vfr.

yup it all comes down to money in the end

 

money? the o2 eliminators are 99 cents a 5 pack... they only take a few minutes to install... they smooth the abrubt throttle response considerably... im not seeing the down side.

You ought to have the following:
Sargants seat
Honda saddlebag hard case kit
SpeedoHealer
a security system (preferably with GPS tracking)
rework the suspension (I'm 300 and proper sag has the preload in the upper third where it gets a bit harsh)
Road Pilot tires with pressure at 40f/44r (+4 over spec to eliminate cupping and enhance longevity)
O2 eliminators at least but PC3 better...
