    Howdy!

Anybody running a Solo S2 on their bike? How does it work for you?
I am considering mounting options that are out of sight, like inside the plastics, or in my hard bags, with a "radar screamer" for the alert. I'm not sure how well the unit will pick up radar signals if I do.
Has anyone tried such a thing?
It seems that external mounts guarantee a ticket if you get pulled, and you have to pack up your toys when you walk away from the bike. Also exposure to rain is a concern. The suction cups on the windscreen are just asking for trouble...

I've been considering the same unit, anxious to hear responces to the radar question. I'd like to put one on my bike but don't want to waste my $ on the wrong set up.

I finally got it all together last week, Solo 2 with direct wire harness, radar screamer horn, and a new volt meter.
I am happiest with the volt meter, nice readable analogue, marine grade, that gently glows red at night to match my tach.
The Solo is mounted inside the LH side cover of my '06. It sits just in front of the hole where my volt meter sits ( left over from the Cruisader head unit ). It is fairly well protected from weather
The Good- Radar detector, screamer horn, and volt meter are all fused and on the same switch. The mute control for the Solo is mounted to the base of the left clip-on, easy access for riding in town. The unit works yo my satisfaction, as good on the bike as it was in the car. ( It's no V1, but almost half the price. )
The Bad- I discovered that the Solo has to be turned on by the switch on the unit, even when hard wired. At first, this was a downer. But, I spend a lot of two wheel time in Va. where radar detectors are illegal, flip the power switch off and on again and the radar detector is gone, and can't be powered up unless you know the ugly little secret.
The Ugly- My stubby fingers are too big to reach the switch. I need a pencil to reach the switch to power up the unit. I now carry an unsharpened #2 in my luggage. :)

I have not learned to post pics.
