Well, Im an ex racer. I racer with many organizations on many different bikes. Im also a Young guy. SO I wouldnt want to be on a bulky sport touring bike. But I was In desperate need of a vehical after my house burnt down, and I ( as a jk) test drove a 2003 vfr800. I went around the neighborhood and fell inlove with how smooth the motor was, and it fit very nice. So I bought it on the spot.

But the think is porky, looks heavy, is heavy, horrible brakes, and quiet as all hell. lol.

Thats when I got to work. So far I built a custom licenceplate relocator, gutted the stock exaust, put on a set of frame sliders, HH brake pads, chrome levers, chrome vfr res. covers, plue wheeltape, Suspension set up correctly, 1 tooth down in the front, BMC airfilter, and removal of the emissions crap. And most recently a set of 04 cbr600f4i handle bars with a quarter inch spacer so they dont hit the bodywork.

Ive taken off all the emissions stuff, rear footpegs, grab bars, reflecters. and other small usless parts.

Im tring to get my bike to really handle like a true sportbike without changing the front end, or other major parts. I will be upgrading the rear shock soon, adding a pc3 and a set of stainless catless headers.

My end goal is to make a kick ass track bike, and a great everyday bike. And as soon as the supercharger kit comes out, Ill be getting that to.

Is there anything that would really help me loose more weight. The thing still is very heavy. Im in mad love with the vfr lol. And wouldnt concider many other bikes I would have as a everyday bike. Other than a SuperHawk.

    Ill post pics soon .

I assume there is no centerstand? Other things I can think of that might reduce the weight a bit are an aftermarket windscreen, carbon fiber chain guard, carbon fiber front fender, alloy side stand, carbon mirrors, alloy sprockets.

What kind of tires are on the bike right now? My bike felt much lighter and more agile after I put on a decent set of Michelins. I really don't think you will get a whole lot more weight off the bike.

    Regards,
    Rollin

Im running a new set of bridgestone bt002 rs.

Ive heard of the tail raiser, wasnt sure if it was all bs .
    any links to it?

Center stand is off, ive got a aftermarket windscreen and I cut it down by 3 inches so the edges line up to the end of the upperfairing ears.

Im going to be modifing the stock chain guard soon, and get a vortex rear sprocket when I put on my new chain.

Ive looked into steering stabilizers, not sure what brand I like most. I like the way the gpr is, but never used that brand.

And Im going to modify the stock rear tail when I get my truck. I cant right now due to it being my only vehical.

is that off a rc 51?

ive been thinking about grafting on the rear end of a 04 or 05 cbr1000rr and go to the single undertail exaust with it. But not sure if it would look right. like it was to small.
