    Hi all,

My forks are looking a little worse for wear. The bottom of my forks, #13 in the attached microfiche is looking like it has seen better days.

    http://fiche.ronayers.com/Index.cfm/Module/Main/TypeID/26/Type/Motorcycle/MakeID/1/Make/Honda/YearID/41/Year/2000/ModelID/6733/Model/VFR800FI/GroupID/285931/Group/FRONT_FORK[/URL]

Can this be painted? Yes, anything can be painted, but is this a good
    idea.

Bonus question, what color or pattern would look good on my 2000 yellow.

    Enquiring minds want to know.

    TIA

They can be painted. Not knowing what you mean by pattern and a quick look at most books on color will give you dozens of choices as to color. Yellow is a primary so so the choice is wide.

I painted mine with black wrinkle paint. There is a trick to this. It takes three coats. One coat in one direction, the second coat perpendicular to the first coat and the third coat at a diagonal. If you are feelin frisky the fourth coat should be applied in a diagonal to the third coat. Best dried with a heat gun and left to cure out for 3-4 days.

Places like Wally's and Homers have the paint in rattlecans. It's OK. The better stuff is a can of the black from your friendly but expensive Harley dealer. You can also buy the paint in bulk from an automotive paint supply or maybe even a big NAPA store that sells Martin-Senour auto paints. Same deal spraying it with a conventional or HVLP rig. Three coats..

An alternative is to jerk them and have them powdercoated.

oooooooooo powder coated, that's an option. Just joking about the pattern. But a taxicab pattern could be interesting.

    Thanks
