    hey all!
ok so i had a pretty rough weekend, on saterday night at 5:30 i struck a car with my bike and was sent to the hospital to later have surgery on my wrist. they installed a plate and six screws.

    the story:
i was riding north on the highway just leaving town. the speed limit was 80km, and was about to change to 100km, i glanced down to check my speed, and when i looked up there was a car crossing about 10ft ahead of me, i slammed bolth brakes but was way too close to even slow.

I struck the white hatchback toyota yaris in the rear quarter and was thrown over.

Talk about a wierd feeling, just whap then silence and i see the sky and my bike flying behind me. i hit the pavement and rolled, as i rolled i could see my bike sliding behind me, i knew it would hit me but it just bumped mt back slightly as we came to a stop.

i hopped up right away, i was aware that i was sore but didnt feel too bad, i managed to open my visor and yell at the lady and flip her the bird before i began too feel not so good. i glnced at myself and saw that my left wrist was not pointing the right way. people rushed to help me and told me to lay down, so i did.
Everyone was great, people supported my back and wrist untill the ambulance arrived. the ambulance wisked me to the hospital, where i was then sent to edmonton to have surgery on my wrist, they installed a plate and six screws in my wrist. my right ankle has twisted ligamenys and i have road rash on my tailbone and leg, and sever brusing on my groun and crotch from strinking the gas tank.

my helmet fared well, just a couple scratched. My coat has burns on the arms sholders and lower back

Geeze nothing like crashing your bike when it really should not have happened. I hope the lady driving the Yaris takes full responsibility. It is good you are well enough to be posting though, I have seen a lot of rider down threads this year from situations just like yours.

Heal quickly and hopefully you can get a good replacement for your bike!

Glad you are all right. Sounds like it was her fault so you should be able to replace the bike and maybe get back on that horse sooner than later.

Just curious, what gear were you wearing besides the obvious Helmet and the jacket you mentioned? Glad you are doing okay- I very nearly had the same thing happen two mornings ago- once the idiot saw me she stomped on her brakes and just sat there paralyzed. Didn't end her goddamn phone call though. I really wanted to get off the bike and snatch her phone from her and stomp it to death- thankfully using phones while driving will soon be illegal in Oregon- 1 less distraction for idiot self absorbed cagers.

As in most other Phone/Drive law states, the Phone Law will not change a thing (after the initial week) other than make you more frustrated seeing it continue.
Right through intersections (Hyways-forgetaboutit) plain as day, it continues...

Good to hear you came through as well as you did. Your bike looks kinda like a chopper now. It would probably still handle better than most choppers. Maybe you should keep it, just bolt some chrome fringe on... ;) Best of luck with your recovery and thanks for posting.

That sucks. No two ways about it.
Heal fast. Stick to your guns to get the settlement you need to make things right.
Glad the wrist was the only thing you broke.

hey all totally just figured out my pasword to get back on here.
UPDATE: i am well plate and screws will stay in my wrist forever. bike got settled for $8000, which at the time was not enough to replace it, VFR's are hard to come by around here. so....
i switched to teh darkside and bought 09 Suzuki DRZ400 Super Moto.
omg what a change!.. i definatly miss the highway riding of teh VFR but this is so much stupid fun in town.. i strongly urge everyone to pick one up be it an older model for cheap, you will not regret it.
thanks everyone for the well wishes, this is me sighning off VFRworld.com untill a few years when i get another VFR.
Any other Super moto riders ill be on thumpertalk.com as dinoman55

    Carb swap

I must tell you that the FCR 39mm carb will be the best money you will ever spend on a bike , hands down no contest. No bigger bang for your buck in the motorcycle world.
