BARF (Bay Area Riders Forum) and SBR (South Bay Riders) host an annual Bay Area Noobie Ride that introduces novice riders to some of the local roads. The emphasis is on maintaining legally posted and suggested speed limits while introducing folks to the twisties. Riders were split into groups of 4-5 riders, with the addition of an experienced lead and sweep to each group. I believe we had about 26 groups this year, and just about 200 people. Given the number of participants the event picked up a couple of sponsors, with Cycle Gear providing donuts and stickers at the AM starting point, and Hollister Honda providing hot dogs at our lunch stop. I met lots of very nice riders, experienced, novice, and everything in between. The VFR was phenomenal! I was quite comfortable for most of the day and felt like I could have kept going. Since it is NHL playoff time, I was wearing my lucky Red Wings jersey over my leathers - just in case I ran into any Shark fans.:biggrin: Both pictures are from the AM leg; after lunch I rode home north to Half Moon Bay on the 1 along the Pacific. Definitely more windy and less twisty, but still a nice ride on the VFR.
Brother, anywhere is a nice ride on the VFR! Sounds like a great ride, and it's an awesome thing to do for novice/less experienced riders. Love the jersey -- Go Red Wings. I was born and raised in the Motor City. Ride safe.
nice pics. ...and I'm also a diehard Sharks fan who is disgusted this morning with their latest playoff choke job!
