Chick, Marrib and Flailer thanks for making it such a fun day. Loved the way those bikes just carved through the corners. And thanks Chicky for the ride on your sweet VFR! I am amazed at how responsive it was and how it was so "intuitive" to ride! I can see why you all like those so much.

This last one was quite a special one. They weren't letting anyone sit on the "display bikes", especially the Streetfighter since it wasn't even out yet. One of the Ducati guys said something to us about making sure we get our pics with the Streetfighter since no one has seen it yet. So, I made the assumption he meant to go sit on it, and I didn't see the "Do not sit" sign on it, so walked right over and sat on it for a photo shoot. The guy actually came over and was helpful about it. Then, Craig got on and had his pic taken... then they put the "Do not sit" sign back on.

Patrick will be working on more pics tonight so hopefully there will be more forthcoming... enjoy!!

 

Okay, so I posted the pics, but they are tiny-sized... how do I get them to be bigger? I'm sure it must be a re-size on the pic itself, but as technically advanced as I can sometimes be, that is just not something I've had to do before....

Marrib in Turn 6

Turn 6 is a double-apex, increasing radius turn that starts out as a 90 degree right-hander. It's tough enough because of the shape, but it also immediately follows a lloonng straight and a right sweeper so the groups would blast down the straight and then jump on the brakes for the turn, jamming up the flow.

 

I couldn't ever get a handle on turn 6. I chatted with the instructor and he said, "Come in super late in 2nd, dive into the corner and make a straight light across the corner to far side and do the double apex thing." I didn't get to try it but it sounded sane enough.

This turn is where I rubbed my right boot on the ground once. So did born2run.

As if the exhaust note of the Ducati Fleet wasn't enough, we had the sweet roar of multiple FA-18s working the sky.
