I just purchased a pretty silver 2003 vfr and have been tooling around on it on local roads getting used to it and all... but i am eventually going to take it on the highway when i am ready. I have a question though, where would i put my EZ Pass so it would register at the tolls? sounds like a dumb question but i was curious and would rather not have any tickets! thanks alot!

well i have a fender eliminator in a box waitng for this weekend to install it. I live in DE, so there are a few toll roads here and i also go home to south jersey every now and then so i would use it for the bridge (Del Memorial) and NJ tpke.

I put mine in the top map pocket of a magnetic tank bag. A medium sized Cortech was about 60 bucks or so, not excessively geeky large perfect for tooling around.

    Where you from Curtis?

I have seen a couple of people use the suction cup EZ Pass tag holder ($5 at any local car wash place), and then place that inside your windscreen, on the left side (while riding) towards the top. Seems to register OK.

I always thought "EZ Pass" was the name we had for it in the NY/NJ/PA/CT area. Is it called the same thing around different parts of the country?

UPDATE: After I made this post, I saw you mentioned you live in DE. I'm far from being a "professional", but if you are a "noob" as you say, do yourself a favor and stay off the NJ Turnpike. That's just a bad place for a bike.

And if you're crossing the DMB, be prepared for potential crosswinds. I'm sure if you've done it in a car, you know exactly what I mean.

I'm planning to stick mine behind the windscreen. Or maybe put it under the nose. I don't think the signal would have any trouble penetrating plastic, it's the metal cages I think it doesn't go through so good. I just got my ezpass for the motorcycle and it has a very nice lamicoid M on it. I'm assuming using the ezpass for the car would result in getting charged car rates.

I have a Marsee tank bag with a clear hard plastic top about an inch deep for maps, cell phone, and stuff. I put it in there. Works like a charm.

I just put mine in the left pocket of my riding jacket. This way I don't have to worry about it being taken if bike mounted and I stop somewhere. I have also heard of people putting it inside the left front fairing but I am to lazy for that at the moment.

    Upright or flat?

I have mine velcro-ed to my riding jacket.
I found it had trouble reading when it was flat, but better upright. (perpendicular to direction of motion)
Don't know if it just my unit because I've seen people lay it on their dashboard.
Mine is from Illinois but it is accepted in most of New England.

What he said. The few times I've been across the DMB on a bike was not fun. The NJ Turnpike? No thanks. Use I295, it's has much less traffic south of the Walt Whitman Bridge.

    KC-10 FE out...

I definatly plan on using 295, hell i take that even in my car! its free and like you said alot less traffic until you get north of 42. I have family in burlington, browns mills and willingboro id like to ride up to see this summer, so i definatly plan on taking 295 rather then the NJ tpke
