Bubba's thoughts on a deleted thread

Must have been deleted and I type dup this long response, didn;t want to waste it.

Listen up all, I know these threads can get out of hand quick. And when I wrote my response I was upset because I really can’t stand Hugo Chavez. Yeah, he was ‘narrowly’ voted into power by the citizens of Venezuela and we can make statements about our ‘evil’ empire (which may be true) but it doesn’t change the fact he exploits his peoples in ways no self described socialist ever would. He’s a lying A-hole, therefore his opinion means shit.

I don’t like Chavez because I happen to be friends with someone who is from their and have hung out with her family and my best friend has spent some time down their as well. Ol’ Bubba Zanetti got a little better picture of what the average working class Venezuelan has to deal with day to day. If you are dirt poor, all is good. If you are rich, all is good (mostly because you are tied to Chavez somehow). If you are working class, you have to work two jobs to survive. And all that oil wealth? Where is it going? Yes, to a few infrastructure projects, otherwise it’s most likely going to his offshore bank accounts because it ain’t going to the people as socialists ALWAYS promise it will. Oh, and if you happen to get a little to critical of his ‘elected’ government, you oddly disappear.

So my rant is over and I know want to address something for myself. A kind of ‘understand where Bubba Zanetti is coming from’ type thing.

I am a conservative. BUT! I hate both Faux (Fox) News and Communist News Network (CNN). Neither one is really interested in reporting something with any depth and/ or intelligence. Yeah, Fox news says ‘conservative’ buzzwords to make it appear they are fair and balanced, but the reality is they are more interested in sucking on the teet of the Republican party and getting any table scraps of recognition they can than actually presenting a conservative viewpoint of any intelligence on matters both foreign and domestic.

Also, Squirrelman! I am glad you always throw out the know you history comments. But brother I do know history. I know what ITT Bank and our past foreign policy has done to Central and South America. I can tell you I am a conservative on an island when it comes to these issues like Tom Hanks or something. I’m still trying to figure out what we where doing in Nicaragua? Somehow, my conservative brothers and sister have equated fueling the industrial military complex with being conservative, when its conservatives that should be fighting against it!

Lastly, as a conservative. I don’t care Barack Obama is our President. Why? You ask. Because for the past eight years the last ‘conservative’ sold out pretty much every conservative principle he had and brought this nation to a steaming pile of failure (for the moment, but I have faith we’ll be back). Bush didn’t do his job like a good conservative should, so Obama won. It’s simple folks. Do a bad job and your ass will be replaced. That’s all that happened. I enjoy watching my fellow conservative squirm. They deserve it. When the mentality is “Any conservative is better than any liberal” I say: “With that mentality, the United States will have a nice fascist leader in no time”

If you’ll settle for anything, you get what you deserve.

I am a conservative also. Not in name, but in principle and in action. I cannot relate to those who say they are conservative, but act otherwise, such as most of our Republican representatives, including our former President George Bush. That's not Conservatism; that's pandering.

I don't agree with Bubba on everything, nor do I disagree with Squirrelman 100% of the time, but I do respect both for having convictions and doing the hard work of educating themselves on the issues at hand and learning the pertinent history. I admire knowledgible and honest believers, whether I agree with them or not.

I usually ignore when political threads come on this site. I totally ignored the Chavez thread because i knew EXACTLY what i was going to see there. I figured it would only last a day or 2 before it was wiped off the site for good. This is a VFR site not a "town hall" meeting. but I have to say I enjoyed reading your statement in this thread Bubba Z. It's nice to see that even a conservative can pull his head out of his long enough to see what Bush did to this country.

The part that got me was that hours before, some were doing the rah-rah-sis-boom-bah that extreme action was taken against the Somali pirates. Somehow what was overlooked was that this was run by The President and he gave his OK. Strong message IMO..

So he meets Chavez and presses the flesh. Should he have a SEAL Team pop the guy? or should he do like any used car salesman would do and shake anyone's hand before starting with the sales pitch? My own personal feeling is that he should pop the guy but that isn't the way things work unless some way we can figure out how to toss President Obama out and put Bush back in the saddle. That way we could nuke Venezuela and tell everyone they had WMD's.

 

first off who gives two peices of whale dung about Somoli pirates? as far as I am concerned the president could park the whole mediterranian fleet off the coast and just blast that god forsaken dung heap further back into the stone age.....I would applaud that...our country does not condone the assassination of foriein dignitaries.....so "popping" Chaves is not really an option. niether is "nuking the country.. they have too much oil.

the difference is plain to see....pop the pirates.. no government , no international incident...pop the leader of a country(allbeit a scumbag) international incident.

 

A buddy of mine told me they both had WMD's. If we nuke them both it would take care of that right skippy. IMO, we should nuke anyone who messes with us.
