I have not been in that area on the bike. Someone who lives here in Buffalo goes with some friends to WI area just over the border from MN and says that the county roads are way curvy and fun. But I have not had the pleasure of going there yet.

Probably talking about the "alphabet" roads. County road O, OO, D, whatever.

They are close to the Pepin area. Some of the nicest roads I've been on.

Have to watch out for the post winter road work. I was carving one of them up with a friend when we came upon this abrupt transition between beautiful pavement and pea gravel. That was a scary time!!

Duluth here. Waiting for the weather to get nice. I have a red 5th gen. I had her apart all winter, replacing worn parts and such. Finally got her back together last Friday, it was reading 77 degrees in my parking lot. Woo-hoo! I can't wait for a road trip. I usually ride up to my dads place about 40 mins north of Brainerd when I need a riding fix.

Also, Jay Cooke parkway between Carlton and Gary has got to be the best twisty road for miles around. It's a pretty quick trip, but shouldn't be missed if you find yourself in the area. I'm gonna wait a little longer for the sand to clear off the roads before I head up there...but soon.

If anybody ever wants to ride on a decent day, let me know.

I've done a bit of riding in that area, and it has always been a good time. In the Mineral Point/ Dodgeville area, the roads are pretty twisty, and the hills are unreal. An awesome trip is to ride from Mineral Point down the edge of the Mississippi River to Bellevue, and cross over the river there, then go back up the west side. Lots of good roads, and a great view!

SW Wisconsin is the dream area for us flatlanders in Chicago. For Twin city guys head to LaCrosse WI. The tourist info guys have Fall drive maps that show 5 or 6 loops around LaCrosse. These can keep you busy for hours and that is just a small part of a huge area. Go anywhere south and east of La Crosse and pick any county road. Drive what the locals call the Coulees, these are all the valleys that run between the hills that follow the streams down to the Mississippi. Pick any of these roads. It's all good. You can come back 10 times and not see the same roads twice. South of La Crosse is Prairie Du Chein, this is where the Wisconsin River meets the Mississippi. You can go east along the WI river or head south along the Mississippi. Follow the Great River Road signs for great little towns and sights.

This will get you started but many, many roads and sights to see. From La Crosse east to almost Madison and South to Galena Illinois is all great Motorcycle country.

Sorry White Chocolate, but WI.. way closer than SD unfortunately. I am headed out to the Black Hills though in July, unfortunately will not have the bike with me.

All you MN boys.. Lets plan a get together if the weather is nice on Saturday May 2nd. All those that want to participate please shoot me a PM and I'll do some brainstorming on route and where to stop and eat etc.

    Remember, wear your ninja gear!

Yep, the plan so far is to head out and do the river run loop? down past Redwing? It will be one day.. maybe 2 - 3 hours of riding + lunch somewhere. Paul, I got your PM and have your cell number in my phone. I will text you tomorrow. Anyone else up for Saturday? Looks like the weather is shaping up to be pretty nice!

Again, PM me if you are interested. I have 1 local R6 rider who is coming. Anyone else?

I won't be able to go on the ride. However, if you guys meet up before hand for coffee or whatever, I'll ride on over to kick the tires and meet you guys. Maybe next time for the ride...

    No shows....

Well, no one shoed, not tito.. not paul. In Paul's defense he did say he had to work.

No worries, I went on the ride anyhow with a friend and we ripped up Eastern MN and Western WI's roads.

I found an unbelieveable road that I will only share on the next ride. It is "the" best set of twisties within 60 miles of the twin cities period....

    Enough said.
