Anyone handy that can tell me what 2 wire colors attach to the back of the speedo on 87 gauges? Or 86 for that matter? Can't figure it out by looking at diagram. Thanks
I will regurgitate my comments from earlier Here is the only cable you need to get it working... a steel cable, in a metal sheeth, oiled. (Hope this link still works) the square tip on one end is the end that is connected to the back of your gauge. As for the two wires, to the left and right of this connection point, those are for the light bulb at the back of the dial, inside. The wires are either positive or negative. Technically you can hook them up either way. However if the circuit is in series with another, and its the other way around, worst you could do it blow the bulb or a fuse. According to automotive standards for wiring specs, the positive is normally on the left of the connection face of any unit. I will double check this tonight for you.
Tex, sorry bud, I was under fire today at work. looking at the back of the instrument pannel, from left to right, you should have... Brown/White wire........Spedo steel sensor cable..........Dark Green wire.
