Hey guys, I was snooping through craigslist today and found this one:

    1983 Honda VF750F Interceptor

I know we can't tell everything from the pictures and the short description but I'm taking any and all opinions. If the problem is either of those described in there, how much time/money is that to fix? How's the price point considering what little we know about it?

I've been thinking about unloading my 500 and cutting the losses but would love to stay in the VFR world so that caught my eye. I know I have the best references in the world right here so if the problems weren't too bad she'd be back up in no time (and in much better shape than my mini judging by those pictures).

So, what do we think? (and if anyone near me is interested - I got dibs until further notice!)

The VF750F is a great bike. You'd find that it has a lot more power than your 500 but also a lot more bulk. The handling isn't nearly as good, mostly because it's 150lb heavier. If you like the 500 you'll like the 750 just as much.

Thanks Jamie - pretty much what I assumed.

    Minor update from the seller:

The bike has been sitting for about a year. It has been garaged its whole life (I have owned it for 10 years, and bought it from a friend, who bought it from the original owner in 1986). Tires are good--they are about 4 year old Metzelers, one year old battery. The last couple of times I rode it last year, it had a little stumbling at small throttle openings; other than that it was fine. However, it is a 26 year old motorcycle...the forks don't leak, but I'm sure they could use a re-build. Same for the rear shock.

Anyone have an estimate on what it's worth as is?
