Recommended suspension settings

I've never played around with suspension settings on any road bike that I have ever owned (not so on my dirt bikes). I don't race, I don't do tricks etc. I'm just a normal rider. The roads here in lower Michigan are pretty well straight and also flat.

Where can I find suspension set up recommendations for a particular body weight and riding style? (I'm 170 and average/aggressive)

I appreciate any input!

My bike is a 2005 VFR800 with a lowering link

 

Most bikes come from the factory with the suspension set for 170.........What luck !

 

I don't know if the previous owner had made adjustments, I'm the 2nd owner so I have no idea if it set up to factory defaults

P.S. Where are you in Michigan exactly? I'm in the Jackson area and frequent Ann Arbor and Lansing areas as well as Dundee/Monroe. I'd be up for a ride as soon as I get my shock back from Ohlins in a week or two.

 

For sure I'd be up for that. I live in Clinton Township (48036) I work Mon - Fri and from end of May on go camping up North ever 2nd weekend.

How far are you from Brighton?

 

About an hour since there's not a direct highway route for me. I'm 40 minutes straight west of Ann Arbor right on I94 OR straight south of Lansing about 35 minutes.
