Hello all; yesterday while riding my 02 vfr, FI red light came on, bike ran perfectly in every way no hesitation or stumble of any sort, idles perfectly, pulled over shut her off and restarted after a minute. Light was gone and all was good for about 10 min, seems to come on when in higher RPM range, goes out when shut off and back again under reasonably hard acceleration, again no descernable ill effects whatever wheather light in on or out. Any ideas.

If you look in the manual it tells you how to jumper the test connection and the FI light will flash whatever codes are stored in the ECU.

Can you flash it and force the FI light to reset...or is it something they have to program at the factory??? Thanks

You can clear out any stored codes. I don't have my manual on this computer but I remember seeing it in the service manual. I think disconnecting the battery will also do it.

Thank you all for your help. I don't have a manual to the bike, but I'll try disconecting the battery and see if that works.

Ok well disconnecting the battery may clear the code(s), but without reading them you won't know what they were, and it may just come back on like it was doing before.
