Hi Just gone to adjust the chain on my 1999 vfr 800 Fi and found that the bearing holder is solid. I adjusted it 12 months ago with no problems but it a doesnt want to budge either way.
    Any ideas please

I had to take the pinch bolt out, tap in a cold chisel to release the grip on the hub assembly whilst using the adjusting tool to rotate it back and forth. Incidentally, when I changed the bearings in the assembly last year, there was all sorts of debris in the swingarm. This crap jumps about and wedges itself between the hub and the swingarm, better than loctite only cheaper!

This happened to my year 2000 model.Had to knock apart whole bearing assembly and clean and copper grease it.afterwards you should turn adjuster every month just to keep it sweet. Best of luck.

Thanks for the help guys, all sorted now. It took a strip down of the rear axle assembly to find that the caliper bracket had pretty much welded itself to the bearing holder by oxidation of the aluminium. This took a bit of heating to get off but the inside of the assembly was all good and not filled with crud. Copper grease and some tlc and she,s beautiful again.
