I want to buy the Leo Vince under-tail alluminum exhaust but I am worried anything other than carbon fiber will melt the tail section plastics? Is this something to worry about, or not? The stock cans have the heat shield and I am guessing that is for good reason... Would love to hear from those of you with either alluminum or Ti aftermarket cans on your 6 gen machine.

    Thanks in advance.

No issues with the carbon LV cans. They don't get hot enough to damage anything even after a 3 our ride. You can touch them with your bare hands after most rides. :thumb:

    Hey SilverSilver and sapd1098!

Thanks for your repsonses. The pipes look great on your bikes from your pics and they sound nice on a VFR from what I gather I youtube. Also have the CF LeoVince pipes on my Ducati Monster so I pretty much know what I am in for with those, they are pretty loud even with the baffles in as I have them on my Duc but considering taking them out on VFR. I am going to go with the carbon cans because they will produce less heat, they will look really good on my 2008 dark silver bike, and I have heard the carbon fiber absorbs much of the high frequency sounds that the alluminum do not, so I like that too. Do you guys have the baffles in or out?

Baffles out! The cans are barely louder than stock with the baffles in. I never bothered to start the bike with the baffles in...

I have the Leo Vince aluminum cans on my bike, no problems with them either. They do get warm, but not hot, I've used them as hand warmers on some cold rides before.
