Just when I had almost given up hope of owning a 6th Gen VFR...

I was sitting down with the wife talking it over and we were going to wait a while to start the search again after April was over. We were talking it over and agreed that anywhere within a day's drive we would consider in the search, so I was perusing Craigslist, and lo and behold...

I GOT MY 6TH GEN BIKE!!!

I go to pick it up on the 18th!

    Here are the details:

    2002 VFR 800
    22K+ miles on the clock
    Power Commander III
    Micron Exhaust
Down 1 tooth in the front
Down 3 teeth in the back
    Speedo Healer
    New Heavy Duty O-Ring Chain
    Polished wheels
All Stock parts included, including shop manual, cover, and a Pit-Bull Stand!

    Here are the pics:

And here's the only major blemish...

The guy said that it happened when one of his straps got loose and rubbed it when he was transporting it.

Very nice find! Congratulations. The next 2 weeks, we be the longest 2 weeks of your life.

The cosmetic damage is easily fixed. A fresh coat of paint and you'll never know it was damaged.

    Oh. And Happy Birthday too!

Yes it is. It's the reason the guy is selling the bike. He spent more time driving the 911 than he has riding the bike.

I told him that if I had that sitting in my garage, I'd rarely be riding the bike as well...

It is already a LONG time...

    Thanks for the HB!

Happy Birthday! What a great way to celebrate -- congratulations. I got my new '07 last September for my birthday. Welcome to the madness my friend.

Your wife is a keeper. Mine is a Saint! It's nice to have a spouse that supports your habit. Happy Birthday.

    me too.

I hope you meant -1 on the front and +3 on the rear(not -1 front -3 rear)...otherwise you're right near stock settings lol.

I'm still not sure on the sprockets either. I will be making a call to the guy later today to verify what it was that he did.

I actually hope the sprockets are -1 front and -3 rear (I have no idea why anyone would do this) but if it's -1 front and +2 rear you are really going to be turning some RPM's at 75+ MPH.

Yea...you never told us...what's the deal with the sprockets?

Stock is 16/43 for 6th gen correct?

    16/43 =2.6875
    15/40 =~2.6667

-1/-3 = retarded? Ever so slight mpg increase? I have no idea.

    -1/+3 or 15/46 =~3.0667 is a bit ridiculous...wheelie much? lol

Looks like a Sargent seat on there too.

Well it was a mis-statement by me. He wend down one tooth on the front, and UP 3 on the back. When I asked why he did it, he said, that at his age he has no reason to go 150+ MPH, so he put the power where he could use it better.

I'm planning on going back to stock configuration and just hanging onto the other chain and sprockets for a track day.

Yup, it's a Sargent seat. I also get all of the stock parts back with the bike too.
