I was out for about 250 miles yesterday. Did you get out? I need to freshen up the suspension on this bike as it felt pretty loose in the corners.

Saw you and the wife coming down Sudley Manor, waved. I was on the my buddies black bike. I didn't get out other than the quick trip down to Vint Hill.

Matt, so that was you doing the big ole celebrity wave on Sudley Manor near the Braemar area? I thought it was funny how big the wave was? What kind of bike was that as it had the stealth paint job on it and I couldn't tell.

LOL!! I had just made the left out of my neighborhood and looked up and saw a VFR and then I saw the monster in trail. I was like, "I know who that is!!!"

I was on my buddies 09 black and gold R6S. Fun little bike! He's still learning to ride a street bike so I took him out to Vint Hill Farms to one of the big parking lots. He did a couple of drills and then I had him ride the bike back to my house.

Also- The wife signed up for the beginner riders course. Apex has a ladies only course and she felt that was the one for her. Her class is in June! Hopefully the wife and I will be able to join you two for some rides!

Sounds good Matt. It always makes me nervous when brand new riders go out and purchase such superbikes like a brand new R6S. Gnarley bike though. Taking a MSF course is a great way to understand the basics.

I hope we can get out and ride with you and your wife as well. I bet you heard my wifes Monster before you even saw us. ever since we installled the new exhaust on her bike, I swear it sounds so good and loud just like a Harley. Damn, did I really say that.

Well I took my buddy out to the assorted dealers in the area and he sat on a lot. At the end of the day he liked the R6S. The R6 was just too forward from him and the R6S seemed to be the middle ground on the bikes he sat on that day. I was worried about him getting on the bike at first but I road it before he did. That thing is a pussy cat until 10k. The brakes were not over the top either. The bike is surprising easy to ride and he adapted to it very quickly. After two days of parking lot drills I put him on the road and he did very well. He said that he the highest he revved the bike was some where in the neighborhood of 8k. I told him to keep it that way until he gets some seat time. And not to worry because I will make sure the motor sees revs above 10k for now!! He is signed up for the msf course in MD for a class at the end of the month.

Oops. I might have goofed. I thought the R6S was the suped up version of the R6. I am sure you will manage 10k RPM's for your buddy, no problem.

Y'all need to show where you find these girls who ride. I think I'm going to be single the rest of my life until I do. Otherwise she will never see me.

What's up with the weather now? Swear I saw a snowflake in Manassas this evening.:ninja:

HB. If you go to some of the track days you can easily meet some chicks there and you might have a good chance at dating one of them, but keep in mind they are probably faster than you on the track.

    Hey guys,

I wanted to introduce myself to you local Virginia VFR riders. I am a very proud new owner of a 2008 VFR as of last week! I have always been taken with this icon since I can remember, when as a boy it peaked my interest in motorcycles, and to this day in my mind, it is the epitome of the sport for me. The latest and greatest model, the sixth generation machine, would be my destiny. I've been riding motorcycles for two years and my first bike was the Ducati Monster 695, which was a great starter bike for me but I am excited to step up to the more substantial VFR. I live in the Bristow/Gainesville area (about four miles west of Manassas) and I am looking forward to meeting some of you guys and possibly joining you on some group rides in the near future.

    Regards,

    Scott

Meet up with some people from .net and went out for a ride on Thursday. I took them on the same route we all took on the last ride. But at Flint Hill we decided to head over to 211 and see what the road conditions were like. Here some of the footage of me rolling up and back down. Pace was pretty slow as there was still a fine layer of shit on the road. Every time I got close to the rider in front of me I was getting pelted with shit.

    Hey Matt, Bitterpil, and Jay!

Thanks for the warm welcome to the board from all of you. Glad to know there are some friendly locals around, absolutely looking to tag along on some group rides with you guys this season.

Matt, your Thorton Gap video was awesome, thanks for sharing. If that was a pretty slow ride then I am a little worried. Ha! I probably catch up with you guys after my California Superbike School dates at VIR next month, and then hopefully I will be able to keep up the rear. In the meantime I am still getting used to the VFR, and loving every minute of it. I'll let you know when I am ready. By the way, I think I may have run into you about two years ago, I was a on my red Ducati monster headed south down Wellington somewhere between Linton Hall and Devlin Rd, it was about dusk and you were coming the other way, in passing I gave you the wave and you slowly and gracefully popped the front end up in the air, a sight to behold - looked like a bear standing up on two legs - I had no answer for that! I'll probably never forget that, almost like a salute. Bike was fitting your description and don't see to many around, was that you?
