Randy is staying in Vancouver, WA tonight at my house, so I'll make sure to have him login and give an update on day 1. It is wet, chilly and all around miserable today...he should have a great ride Did I mention it is wet?? Better turn the temp on the hot tub up a few degrees.

My 8 yr old son is so pumped to have another VFR in the garage...especially one with the mufflers under the seat. He said yesterday that it will be like having a little VFRWorld in our garage.

I sure am hoping to make it to SLO IV. I just started a new job last Nov. and no vacation time for 6 months or I'd be joining Randy on the trip down south.

It's 4:41 and he has not yet arrived...expecting him shortly. Dinner is cooking, the hot tub is bubbling, and the beer is chillin'.

 

I hope to be at Reg's in 24 hours.

Snowed off on then got to a whole 37 with a light drizzle. The man has large ones, luckily it will be getting nicer as he heads south.

Glad to hear Randy will have coconspirator on the way down. We have two flakes in Sac, but they are working in south bay area and are talking about trailering bikes to job site and riding to meet up friday night.I have been giving them hell but right now work is work.

 

That is so cool that we have visual confirmation on the Canuck's where abouts and well being. Ride on, Randy, ride on.

He arrived in Vancouver, WA about 20 minutes ago and is having some dinner. I'll leave the rest for him to tell.

Damn, damn, damn.

I knew it was too good to be true. Like just about everyone else, I have been planning this since January, at least. I took of work, made a luggage rack, bought a tank bag, and planned a rendezvoux with Drewl's Crew from Northern Cal in Stockton tomorrow at 12ish. I even took the wife to Napa Valley for the weekend to prove to her that I love her more than my motorcycle. Not to mention getting together with a bunch of guys I don't even know (and at least one VFRChick), at I place I've never been, to do nothing but drink beer (and wine), and ride our VFR's for the weekend.

But NOOOOO! I'm supposed to build a chicken coop on a concrete slab before I go! Yeah Right! Is it just my wife, or do all wives measure how much we love them by whether or not we'll do projects around the house instead of go for a ride with some other guys? Well, all I can say is that I am thoroughly disgusted (although for my pride's sake I don't want her to know so I'm pretending that the ride meant nothing to me). No, I'm pissed. Of course I love her more than all of you. Doesn't that go without saying? Even though I say it ten times a day? I guess not.

Man, I sure hope you all have the best time of your lives. Drink a few for me around the fire or around something. Take a piss in Reg's urinal for me. Sleep in the recliner for me. Write on somebody else's face with a sharpie for me. Scrub your tires in like I was right on your tail coming out of a perfectly cambered and radiused turn. And have a feast of a BBQ for me.

But please, instead of having disdain for me because I sound like I'm totally PW'd, feel sorry for me. I've been married for 24 years. My oldest boy is 20, my girls are 17 and 14, and my little guy is 10. I'd tell her, "You're right, this weekend I love my motorcycle more than I love you and I'm not going to prove it by building a chicken coop!" But for my kids sake, I need to stay married for at least 8 more years. Hopefully by then, I'll still have my Interceptor and my wife won't be too insecure to know that I can go for a ride with people I don't know and it won't mean I don't love her.

AARRRRGGGHHHHHHHH!

So, all that to say, I won't make it this weekend. And I sincerely hope you all have an accident free, ticketless, stay out of jail good time without me.
