Greetings everyone! This is my first post, I was introduced to this website by a fellow VFR friend Mikonovich.

I have been eye-balling VFR's for the last few years and just happened to come across a deal I couldn't pass up. The previous owner is leaving the country back to the UK and had the bike priced to move. It's metalic black with 5800 miles on it, ABS, is in perfect condition with no mods. I got it for less than half the price of a new ABS model. The only thing it needed were new tires, oil change and a chain adjustment.

I'll add some pics when i get around to it.

Congrats with the purchase! Sit back and enjoy the site. There's a ton of good information on here if you have your hip boots on to wade through the :bs: I'm sure the welcoming committee will be here shortly to continue the proper "hello". Where are you located? Are you thinking of modding the bike any?

I'm located in Ventura County, Ca. and I am looking into the various mods for the bike. Fender eliminator, grips, heli bars, brake/clutch handles etc. I figured I would give the bike some ride time before comitting on any one thing.

Welcome, I'm fairly new myself. Gotta cut the end of those exhaust cans off unless you're planning on purchasing a sweet aftermarket exhaust soon. Makes a world of difference in the sound. Unless you like the stock sounds that is. Nothing wrong with that.

I confess, I'm unfamiliar with "cut[ting] the end of those exhaust cans off". I'm going to assume this has probably been discussed before, I'll look around. For now though I'm confortable with the stock exhaust. I may be looking around at some point to see which I like the sound of the most. Just need to space out the spending.

    Thanks!

Yeah there are some good write ups on here about modifying the stock exhaust. The main advice I can offer is that unless you're planning on gutting the entire can, which I didn't and can't imagine it sounding much better, cut on the outside of the rear most weld. Otherwise you;ll separate the inner baffels from the outer can and they'll need to be rejoined either by welding or some other means. Enjoy.
