You're not going to let a little snow and rain stop you are you? This is THE epic event of the year! The next BBQ in late summer is so hot in the Central Valley that you cook in your gear! Yes I'm already talking about SLO IV!!!:thumbsup::biggrin:

(Making a call to weather God now for Randy...)

At least if it's mostly rain, that's not too bad. Snow would suck. Have you checked the forecasts for your way down to know whereabouts it might clear up? A half day or even a day in the rain isn't too bad if the rest of the trip is clear.... I'm sending out good weather energy for ya!!

Hey Randy, I ask the Rain, Snow god to take his time. You should be fine for 1/2 day to get out of his way :)

It's a few blocks away, but the sign is at the corner of a busy road. Proabably further up the hill it would be less busy, though. There is also a Baggins Road and other unusual names.

I may have just achieved the greatest accomplishment of my short life. The Coors Light keg is done. If it was in a bucket, it would be floating. Tomorrow I take delivery of a fresh new keg of Firestone DBA. Too bad I'll have a day or two headstart on you clowns because after tonight I am off for 8 days! that right, straight through the BBQ days and beyond... BOO YAH!

I guess I'll be bringing a case of wine. Beer gives me hives. More for you 'respectable' folks. Oh, for us non-beer people, what is a DBA?

As a long time Oregonian I can tell you that the *Siskiyou Summit is the only real challenge on interstate 5. (Assuming one is NOT a total pansy.... say.. like someone from Calif)

The grade for the Siskiyou summit starts just outside (south-end) of Ashland. Here is a link to road camera's for that area....
    LinkHere
    or paste
TripCheck - Road Cams, Road & Weather Conditions in Oregon - ODOT
Clinky the above linky, and then clicky on BOTH icons for exit #6, and the summit too. Both are for day-time cameras, and they show temp. The little flags give written reports

Sexton summit, north Grants Pass, is far less of a concern. But one can consider looking at it, and the reported temps there too.

Unless summer, I wouldnt (would NOT) recommend going via Klamath Falls over the lake of the woods hwy 140. The summit there is lower, but the road conditions are generally far worse. I wouldn’t go via Klamath Falls to Weed either. I5 is the best shot. (If it is summer….. hwy 140 and Green-Springs are must not miss routes!)

Again, the concern is for Siskiyou summit, on interstate 5. And everywhere else should be fine and clear by comparison.

Again, I have ridden that area for decades. And by comparison Riders will be happy with all road conditions north of Ashland Oregon. And by the time one hits Dunsmiur CA, and southward, it should be totally clear sailing by comparison to the summit.

It may get windy just south of Yreka CA, but it always seems to stop well before Weed CA.

Any questions just lemme know. (i know some GREAT places to eat, camp, ride and play thereabouts)

Hoping to see all this "weakend"

    flailer
