interchangable front sprocket

    ok so here is my question ,
    i have a friend that has a 2000 ( 5th gen ) vfr. now i here that stock front sprocket is 16 teeth .
    and i have a 2002 ( 6th gen ) and ive read that 17 is stock front sprocket ....
    now here is the question , my buddy has a new 16 tooth sprocket and has offered it to me , will it fit on my 02 ????

    Backwards, the 5th gen comes with a 17 tooth stock, the 6th gen comes with a 16 tooth stock. They are interchangable.

    So an 02 has a 16 tooth front ?
    I went to my local dealer and tried to get a -1 tooth from stock and he couldn't find one ,so where would I get one prefure one in Canada our dollar isn't the best and has anyone like the change if they have done it ,is it worth it ?

    '02 OEM should have 16 teeth. Check the forums, there have been at least two very long threads on this in the last couple weeks.

    hey is there any canadian guys change there stock 2002,16 tooth front sprocket for a 15 ? and if anyone did where did u get your sprocket ? i tried to call sprocket specialest but the number doesnt work up here . i went to my locAL HONDA dealer and they couldnt find me one . any help would be great

    ya I did..ordered it from sprocket specialist online at the time...made a noticeable diff on both my 05 (16 to 15)and my 00 (17 to 16)... My 05 then kept up with the stock 00 with the 15 on it and better drivability slow in town.. I now also also use 1980-82..cb11-900f-750f sprockets ..same and plentiful. Enjoy
